On November 27, 2019 Customs uploaded the final version of the new CTPAT Minimum Security Criteria (MSC) into their webpage and the CTPAT Portal. This is the culmination of a three-year effort to update the CTPAT criteria to fulfill legal mandates, adjust to a changing trade landscape, apply lessons learned, and adapt to ever-evolving terrorism and criminal threats.
Last week, we got the news of more terrorist attacks, this time in New York City, North Jersey, and the Jersey Shore. This hit a bit close to home as I grew up on the shore and have lived close to all of those places at one time or another.
It wasn't shocking, but felt more routine, which in and of itself is shocking. We've seen this in various forms in Nice, Baghdad, Turkey, Belgium, Pakistan, France, and a dozen other global locations.

As a current college student and Tradewin intern, I am no stranger to financial aid deadlines and nagging parents – in fact, I’ve got three years of experience under my belt. Otherwise, the College Board (or worse, the federal government!) will make life difficult.
